Polygon Labs, the company responsible for the Polygon cryptocurrency (MATIC), completed the migration of the MATIC token to POL on September 4, 2024.
POL is the new native token of the Polygon network and will be used for staking and fee payments. The migration was done on a 1:1 basis, and POL represents the beginning of Polygon 2.0.
